About the Opportunities
For 170 years, Yalumba has been providing opportunities for people to join our team for vintage, to learn about wine making operations and to make an important contribution to our wines. Yalumba now has multiple opportunities for Cellar Hands to join our team based in Barossa Valley, on a casual basis.
These positions will comprise of 12 hour shifts 6 days a week during the peak of vintage, and will involve indoor and outdoor work. Ideally you will have worked in a cellar, manufacturing or agriculture / horticulture, however this is not essential.
Day to day responsibilities of a Cellar Hand may include (but may not be limited to):
- Crushing and pressing grapes;
- Actively managing the fermentation processes;
- Making additions to the wine; and
- Setting up equipment and transferring wine.
Great Cellar Hands are team players who are able to work well with others in order to successfully complete the task at hand. You'll also need to be a self-starter with a great attitude! Your ability to pick up tasks and learn quickly will be vital to your success, as will your ability to operate in a smart and safe manner.
Vintage will commence in early January and finish in late March to mid-April, depending on the season. Applicants must be available for the whole of this period.
